The practical idea
It is reasonable to ask how AI might change a line of work. A useful answer separates tasks that tools can assist with from responsibilities that still require people, institutions and judgment. A confident forecast is not a career plan.
Investigate a real role
Choose one occupation the learner finds interesting. Read a current role description and, if possible, ask someone doing the work what their week looks like. Note the skills, qualifications and less obvious parts of the job.
Try one small piece of the work
Design a short project inspired by the role. Use AI only where it helps the learner practice or investigate, and keep track of which parts they can explain without it.
Compare paths without a forced choice
Discuss what school, training, projects and work experience each contribute. Costs, requirements and opportunities differ. Keep more than one plausible path open instead of treating a technology forecast as a deadline.
