The Netherlands closed out the World Cup group stage in Kansas City with a 3-1 win over Tunisia at a rainy GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on June 25, 2026. Brian Brobbey scored his third goal of the tournament and two more deflected in off Tunisia as the Dutch won Group F and advanced; Tunisia were eliminated. Here is how it unfolded — and a note on Team USA's match tonight.

Final: Netherlands 3, Tunisia 1

The World Cup said goodbye to Kansas City for the group stage with a Dutch win. The Netherlands beat Tunisia 3-1 in the final round of Group F at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, June 25, 2026, playing through a steady evening rain.

It was the last of the Arrowhead group-stage matches, and the result sent the Netherlands through to the knockout stage as group winners while bringing the curtain down on Tunisia's tournament.

How the goals went in

The Netherlands took an early lead in unlucky fashion for Tunisia: Denzel Dumfries drove a ball across the face of goal and Tunisia captain Ellys Skhiri, stretching to clear, turned it into his own net for an early own goal (1-0).

Before the break, Brian Brobbey doubled the lead with his third goal of the World Cup to make it 2-0 at halftime.

Tunisia hit back in the 54th minute, when Hazem Mastouri redirected a corner kick into the net to cut it to 2-1. But the Netherlands restored the two-goal cushion in the 62nd minuteJan Paul van Hecke's header off a corner glanced off Anis Slimane and in for a second Tunisia own goal, sealing the 3-1 final.

What it means

The Netherlands win Group F and advance to the knockout round. The Dutch had controlled their group from the front, and the win at Arrowhead locked up top spot.

Tunisia are out. The Carthage Eagles, who parted ways with their head coach after an opening-match loss, finished the group stage without a win and were eliminated. Thursday's match was their last of the tournament.

A rain-soaked send-off at Arrowhead

Kansas City has been one of the loudest hosts of World Cup 26, and the city's group-stage run at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium closed out under the lights and the rain. The Dutch traveling support and a curious Kansas City crowd turned out for a match that, on paper, only one side still had something to play for — and got three goals, two own goals, and a tidy night's work from the team that topped the group.

Team USA is in action tonight, too

Kansas City's World Cup night isn't over. The United States men's national team faces Türkiye in Group D at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California (kickoff 9:00 p.m. CT) — a separate match, in a different city. The U.S. came in already through to the knockout round after a 4-1 win over Paraguay and a 2-0 win over Australia, playing for top spot in the group.
