Compare sources
Ask a knowledgeable person or consult an appropriate field guide. Use an AI tool to suggest questions, then check its answers. Keep uncertain identifications marked uncertain.
Make a short field notebook
Combine a few observations, a source and a correction into a one-page record. The point is to practice careful inquiry. It does not establish that one kind of learning makes school or credentials obsolete.
